Ky Hoi Spring 2019 Quan Ho folk singing contest, Tourism Culture Week, Press Festival and Bonsai Festival open
(BNP) - In the series of activities to welcome the Festival "Coming back to Quan Ho land in 2019" and the celebration of 10th anniversary of Quan Ho Bac Ninh folk songs recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity, at Kinh Bac Cultural Center, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in collaboration with the Provincial Journalists Association and the Provincial Bonsai Association on February 14th held the opening ceremony of Ky Hoi Spring 2019 Quan Ho folk singing contest, Tourism Culture Week, Press Festival, Bonsai Festival.

The Quan ho folk singing contest this year attracted over 300 actors, musicians from 8 districts, town and city with 51 items on Quan ho music stage and 58 pairs of male and female duet singers on Quan ho antiphonal singing stage of 34 Quan Ho villages in the province. Within 3 days of the contest (February 13th, 14th and 166th), Quan ho artisans, male and female singers, amateur artists had chance to meet, interact, exchange, share experiences in preserving rules and essence values of Quan ho cultural activities. The contest is a unique and typical cultural beauty of Bac Ninh – Kinh Bac land which contributes to realizing of the commitment to UNESCO in preserving and promoting the Quan Ho Bac Ninh folk song heritage.
At the opening ceremony, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism announced and awarded 11 provincial tourism spots. In the "Bac Ninh Tourism - Culture Week" consisted of activities such as Famtrip program "Discovering the cultural countryside of Kinh Bac - Bac Ninh" and attracted 20 provinces and cities, 15 travel enterprises, 25 organizations domestic press agencies. Free tours by bus "Journey to the region of Quan Ho folk songs" will take place from February 18th to February 20th.
2019 Ky Hoi Spring Press Festival was held in 2 days (February 14thth and 15th) and displayed and introduced more than 100 newspapers and magazines of the central press agencies, provincial and municipal Party newspapers of provinces, cities nationwide. Among which, Bac Ninh province with 25 units exhibiting press publications. Most of the publications and magazines were made in an attractive, animate form and rich, deep content, showing new press appearance of the country in general and Quan ho land in particular.
Taking place from February 14th to 26th, Bonsai contest this year attracted the participating of more than 8,000 products of bonsai, ornament wood, rock, landscape… of nearly 500 artisans from 20 provinces and cities in the country. Particularly, Bac Ninh province has 8 districts, town and city with over 250 authors and nearly 3,000 products participating in the contest. This was an opportunity for tourists to enjoy and study Bac Ninh’s culture and people through the works on display at the contest, while creating a forum for artisans, members of Bonsai association inside and outside the province to exchange and share experiences to create valuable works, contributing to improving the quality of material and spiritual life in society.
