National e-Invoice System announced

(BNP) – In the morning of April 21st, the national e-invoice system was launched with a ceremony held by the General Department of Taxation (GDT) in Hanoi.

Participants at Bac Ninh’s venue were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Electronic Invoice Ngo Tan Phuong and leaders of relevant departments and sectors.

From November 21, 2021, the provincial departments of taxation of six cities and provinces namely Ha Noi, Ho Chi Minh City, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Binh Dinh, and Phu Tho started to issue e-invoices. Up to now, 100% of organisations and enterprises in the six localities taking part have shifted to e-invoices.

Phase 2 will be carried out in the remaining 57 provinces and cities with the aim of all tax payers nationwide using e-invoices by July 1 this year, according to the GDT.

In Bac Ninh province, as of April 20, the Provincial Department of Taxation has approved 9,711 out of 13,141 businesses, reaching 73.9%; 468 business households and individuals registered to use e-invoices. The total number of e-invoices created and used in 20 days is 78,951 numbers, including invoice with code and without code of the tax authority.

At the ceremony, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and leaders of ministries, branches and localities launched the national e-invoice system.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh said digital transformation is an inevitable trend that is taking place strongly around the world, adding that the Party and State consider this as one of the most important tasks.

Speaking highly of the GDT and the Finance Ministry’s efforts to boost e-invoice application, he asked the taxation sector to boost applying modern technology so as to ensure that tax declaration and payment are carried out in the simplest and easiest possible manner, and all the tax administrative procedures handled electronically are connected with the National Public Service Portal by the end of 2022.

The Government leader also demanded communications be increased to raise people and enterprises’ awareness of benefits from e-invoices, saying awareness plays the decisive role in digital transformation, which will be truly successful only when each people and enterprise understands, actively participates in, and benefits from it./.

At Bac Ninh’s venue, Vice Chairman Phuong requested the Provincial Department of Taxation to work with relevant agencies and units to actively implement the effectiveness of the application of e-invoices for all businesses; regularly maintain the operation of the E-Invoice Operations Center; strengthen dialogue to remove difficulties and obstacles for taxpayers in the process of implementing and applying e-invoices…
