Provincial leaders offer incense at Bac Ninh Temple of Literature on Lantern Festival

(BNP) - On the morning of February 23 (Full moon of the 1st month), a delegation of the Provincial Party Committee (PPC), People's Council, People's Committee, and Fatherland Front Committee led by Dr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Member of the Party Central Committee, PPC’s Secretary and Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly offered incense at the Bac Ninh Temple of Literature (Dai Phuc Ward, Bac Ninh City) on the Lantern Festival, Giap Thin Spring 2024.

Joining the delegation were Mr. Nguyen Quoc Chung, Standing Deputy Secretary of the PPC and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Mrs. Nguyen Huong Giang, Deputy Secretary of the PPC and Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee; Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan, Alternate Member of the Party Central Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; members of the Provincial Party Standing Committee Permanent People's Council; leaders of the Provincial People's Committee, Fatherland Front Committee, and Delegation of National Assembly Deputies; leaders of departments, branches, sectors and unions of Bac Ninh province and city along with representatives from10 academic families and outstanding students.

Bac Ninh Temple of Literature is a valuable typical relic, one of the proud symbols of the academic tradition and studiousness, honoring talented people who have made intellectual contributions to the homeland, the country. This is the place to worship Duc Khong Tu, Tu Phoi, and the 12 "Kim bang luu phuong" steles bearing the names of 677 great scholars from Kinh Bac's hometown.

At the Temple of Literature in Bac Ninh, the delegation respectfully offered incense and flowers to Duc Khong Tu, Tu Phoi, ancient sages, and great scholars, wishing and praying for the people to enjoy prosperity, peace, and intellectual success, as well as to cultivate virtue and talent worthy of the Kinh Bac homeland's studious and scholarly traditions.

This is an annual activity to demonstrate the moral "When drinking water, remember its source" for generations of ancestors who have contributed to building and defending the country, and it is an opportunity to honor the traditional historical and revolutionary values of the land and Bac Ninh people; encourage the party, government, and people to strive to build a rich, beautiful, and civilized province.

After the incense offering ceremony, the provincial leaders participated in activities to learn the art of calligraphy and ask for spring letters at the Temple of Literature. At the same time, they chatted with representatives from outstanding academic families and students, wishing them to continue to follow the example of their predecessors, compete for high academic achievements, and constantly practice their qualities to become good citizens useful to society.
