Round I, Table A of National Volleyball Championship - Duc Giang Chemical Cup 2023 opens

(BNP) - On the evening of February 24, at the Provincial Multi-Purpose Gymnasium, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Vietnam Volleyball Federation jointly held the opening ceremony of Round I, Table A of the National Volleyball Championship - Duc Giang Chemical Cup in 2023. This is one of the activities in response to the Festival "Coming back to Quan Ho land - 2023".


The leaders present commemorative flags to the teams.

Attending the program were Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan; Deputy Director General of the General Department of Sports Nguyen Danh Hoang Viet; General Secretary of Vietnam Volleyball Federation Le Tri Truong; leaders of departments, branches and mass organizations of the province; sponsors and a large number of volleyball fans inside and outside the province.

The National Volleyball Championship is the highest competition in the Vietnamese volleyball system. This tournament aims to promote training and building a force of volleyball athletes; train and foster talents to select excellent athletes for the national team to participate in international tournaments.

The tournament was divided into two tables A and B. Table A was held in Bac Ninh with the participation of more than 200 athletes from 10 teams, including 5 men's teams including: Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Ha Tinh, Sanest Khanh Hoa, Da Nang and 5 women's teams including: Viettinbank, Quang Ninh charcoal, Ninh Binh Lienvietpostbank, Geleximco Thai Binh, Kinh Bac - Bac Ninh.

Table B will compete from March 10 to 19 at Gia Lam Gymnasium, Hanoi, including 10 teams, of which 5 men's teams are: The Cong, Bien Phong, Ninh Binh LienVietPostBank, Binh Duong Construction Materials and Lavie Long An; 5 women's teams are Duc Giang Tia Sang Chemical, Information Command, Ho Chi Minh City, Ha Phu Thanh Hoa and VTV Binh Dien Long An.

Round I, Table A of the National Volleyball Championship takes place from February 24 to March 5 at the Provincial Multi-Purpose Gymnasium and is open to fans free of charge to watch and cheer on the teams.

On the first day of competition, two matches took place: Ho Chi Minh City met Hanoi; Viettinbank met Kinh Bac - Bac Ninh.
