Secretary Nguyen Anh Tuan receives Korean Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Vietnam
(BNP) - On February 22, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies received and worked with Ms. Oh Young-ju, Korean Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Vietnam.

Participants at the meeting were Mr. Ngo Tan Phuong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of some departments and branches of the province.
Speaking at the meeting, Secretary Nguyen Anh Tuan thanked the Ambassador for visiting and giving special affection to Bac Ninh province. Mr. Tuan said that up to now, Korea is the country with the largest FDI investment in Bac Ninh with nearly 60% of the capital, creating about 70% of industrial production value in the province; creating jobs for 170,000 workers, making an important contribution to the development of the province.
Tuan asked the Ambassador to pay attention and support Bac Ninh province a number of contents related to the proposal of UNESCO to recognize "Dong Ho folk painting profession" as an intangible cultural heritage in urgent need of protection; promote and encourage Korean enterprises to learn and invest in Bac Ninh, especially in priority areas such as high-tech, modern, environmentally friendly industry (semiconductor industry, chip manufacturing, energy storage and conversion, logistics, development of urban areas); promote technology transfer of Korean enterprises to Vietnamese enterprises; promote the Vietnam Village project in Bonghwa district, Gyeongsangbuk province.
For his part, Ambassador Oh Young-ju said that Bac Ninh is the first province in Vietnam that the Ambassador visits and works in 2023.
Currently, the Korean Embassy is coordinating with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to prepare to organize the program "Meet Korea 2023" scheduled to take place in May 2023. The Ambassador wished that the program would be held in Bac Ninh and asked Bac Ninh province to create conditions for the event.
Ms. Oh Young-ju supported and agreed with the proposals of Bac Ninh province and said that the relationship between Bac Ninh and Korean localities today is mainly investment and economic cooperation, so in the future it is necessary to open into the field of culture and education.
Ms. Oh Young-ju is would support the proposal of UNESCO to recognize "Dong Ho folk painting profession" as an intangible cultural heritage in need of urgent protection.
At the meeting, the two sides discussed and exchanged recommendations, proposals as well as contents of interest to the two sides.
