Attending the ceremony were Mr. Nguyen Nhan Chien, Member of Party Central Committee, Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Head of Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies; Mr. Nguyen Huu Quat, Standing Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Nguyen Tu Quynh, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee; Mrs. Dao Hong Lan, Alternate Member of Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee; Mrs. Nguyen Huong Giang, Chairwoman of Provincial People's Council; Mr. Tran Duc Phan, Deputy General Director of General Department of Sports and Physical Training; Major General Khuc Dang Tuan, Commander of Information Arm; the former provincial leaders throughout the periods; leaders of departments, districts, town and city.

At 8 pm, the opening ceremony of the 8^th Provincial Sports Festival was officially taken place with a variety of parade groups such as the drumming and trumpeting of the teenagers, the national flag team, Uncle Ho's image procession, the festival flag, red flags, hundreds of athletes wearing sportswear and other forces representing districts, town, city in the province.

Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Nhan Chien officially lighted the traditional, sacred flame, which is a symbol of determination, the spirit of sport, and desire to reach new heights, to open the Provincial Sports Festival.

In the opening remark, Mr. Nguyen Van Phong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of Steering Committee of the Provincial Sports Festival emphasized that for recent years, thanks to the guidance of the political system, the active participation of all classes of people, and the remarkable achievement of socio-economic development, Bac Ninh Sports has had a strong move. Along with promoting the martial arts tradition of Kinh Bac, doing exercise and sports have become a popular movement, attracting a large number of people to participate in.

Many excellent athletes have timely been discovered, trained to compete, and won high prizes in the national and international sports tournaments through the sports mass movement.

The Provincial Sports Festival is not only an event of culture and sport but also an opportunity for athletes to exchange, learn experiences on sports competition, making the movement "All people do exercise following the great example of Uncle Ho" an effective development, contributing to enhancing physical strength, the stature of Bac Ninh people. Thus, it dedicated to the goal of building Bac Ninh province into a centrally-run city by 2022 in the direction of "Modernity, culture, ecology, knowledge and smart city".

As soon as the opening ceremony finished, the gymnastics-art performance was extended with the theme "Bac Ninh Sports to reach new height". The program holds the cultural identity of Kinh Bac land with recreating the heroic tradition of the local people as well as the non-stop development of the province in general and the movement of physical training in particular. The performance ended in the cheers of thousands of audiences like the successful greeting of the opening ceremony of the Festival.
