The “Parenting for the comprehensive child development” program is sponsored by The United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) under the Project “Enhancing the capacity of the Vietnam Women's Union in parenting education for child development; preventing and responding to gender-based violence”. It contributes to the implementation of the Nurture scheme for total development of children during early years in family and community during 2018 – 2025 in Decision no. 1437/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister.

In 2023, the program was held in 03 provinces of Ca Mau, Bac Ninh and Hai Phong. In Bac Ninh province, the program was successfully organized in Luong Tai and Gia Binh districts with the participation of more than 2,500 fathers, mothers and caregivers of children aged 0-8 in the community. In the 2024 – 2025 period, the program continues to be implemented in Bac Ninh city and Que Vo town.

At the training course, members were equipped with knowledge on the following topics: Learning through experience; discovering personal values; parenting skills; nutritional care; intellectual development in children and playing with children; children's behavior; preventing child abuse; child safety; parents controlling emotions and taking care of themselves.

The training course helps members understand the value and content of the "Parenting for the comprehensive child development" program applicable to children from 0-8 years old. It also promotes the role of instructors when leading activities for parents based on the principles of adult education and the experiential learning cycle.

As planned, the training course will take place in 5 days, from September 4 to September 8, 2024.
