Trung Xa Pagoda (Dai Khanh Tu)

(BNP) - Trung Xa Pagoda was built very early. It is located in the southwest of Trung Xa village, Trung Xa commune (now Quang Minh commune), Luong Tai district.

During the resistance fight against the French colonialists, the Trung Xa pagoda was completely destroyed.  Locals contributed money and effort to rehabilitate the pagoda in 1992, and in 2017, the pagoda was extensively renovated and ornamented to its current look.


Tam Bao (Triple Gems) has a Chinese “Dinh” letter architecture.


The roof ridge is a relief scroll with three words "Dai Khanh Tu".


The Tien duong has 5 compartments.

The Thuong dien has 3 compartments. On the left is the Mother's house, in front is the 3-room guest house.

Dai Khanh Pagoda worships not only Buddha and Mother House, but also the Ancestors and Buddha, who were essential in the pagoda's restoration and renovation throughout history.

Currently, the pagoda still preserves many valuable documents and artifacts such as: Le Dynasty stone bed; Le Dynasty stone altar; Phung Tu Bi Ky Chinh Hoa 16 (1659), Hau Tu Bi Ky Tu Duc 14 (1861), Phung Su Bi Ky Tu Duc 20 (1867), Hau Ky Bi Ky Bao Dai 13 (1937).

In particular, the pagoda still preserves 10 ancient statues from the Nguyen Dynasty, including: the Tam The statue set (3 statues), the Amitabha Tam Ton set (3 statues: Adida, Quan The Am, Dai The Chi), the statue of the Buddha, Sakyamuni preaching the Dharma, Quan Am Chuan De, the statue of the founder...

Trung Xa Pagoda was ranked as a historical relic by the Provincial People's Committee in Decision No. 1048/QD-UBND dated September 17, 2015.
