Unique features of Dong Ho folk painting at EXPO 2020 DUBAI
(BNP) - One of the unique cultural products that Vietnam brings to EXPO 2020 DUBAI is Dong Ho folk painting and craft of Bac Ninh.
The Organizing Committee of EXPO 2020 Dubai praises Dong Ho folk painting profession.
Dong Ho folk paintings are popular with most Vietnamese people, but especially those in the Red River region. Dong Ho folk paintings, short for Dong Ho folk woodcut painting, is a line of Vietnamese folk painting originating in Dong Ho Village. Not only is it attractive, unique in color, harmonious in composition and sophisticated in the layout of the painting but it is also made of the completely natural material, which perhaps only has in Vietnam. Dong Ho folk paintings have become a shining pearl of fine art, imbued with Vietnamese national cultural identity.
The small space in front of the Vietnam National House at EXPO DUBAI during the transition days from 2021 to 2022 is filled with the atmosphere of Dong Ho painting. That exhibition attracted the attention of a large number of international visitors.
It is hoped that through image promotion and performance at the World Fair - Dubai, Bac Ninh's Dong Ho folk painting craft will soon be recognized by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage in Need of Urgent Safeguarding.
Mr. Sultan Mahammed Al Ahamsi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the UAE, excitedly showed off his paintings made by himself under the guidance of the elite Artisan Nguyen Thi Oanh.

It is the first time Ms. Le Hoang Diep Thao, Vice President of the Vietnam Coffee and Cocoa Association have learned about the painting profession.
