Vice Chairman Vuong Quoc Tuan visits and surveys activities of Phu Lang pottery village
(BNP) - On December 27, Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan visited and surveyed the activities of Phu Lang pottery village, Phu Lang commune, Que Vo district to propose mechanisms and policies for preservation and promotion of the value as well as the development of Phu Lang pottery village.

Phu Lang commune has now about 250 pottery-making households, accounting for nearly 30% of the total number of households in the craft village area. Every year, the village manufactures and supplies millions of ceramic products of all kinds to the market. The revenue of more than VND 100 billion per year with an estimated average income of 7.5 million VND/person/month. The development of the pottery village has made positive contributions to the transformation of the local economic structure.
In order to preserve and promote the value of Phu Lang pottery village, leaders of Que Vo district suggested that the province should have mechanisms and policies to support artisans in pottery villages; adjust the planning of Phu Lang commune in association with tourist attractions of the province; upgrade roads passing through craft villages; strengthen communication and promotion of Phu Lang ceramic products; support the supply of raw materials for production; build a center for conservation, introduction and promotion of ceramic products in Phu Lang commune, and so on.
Visiting Duc Thinh pottery factory in Phu Lang hamlet and Lam pottery factory, Doan Ket hamlet, Phu Lang commune, Tuan acknowledged and highly appreciated the dynamism and creativity of the ceramic facilities in expanding production scale as well as promoting products at home and abroad. He hoped the facilities will actively innovate diverse and unique products, so as to improve product value and meet the increasing requirements of the market.
He assigned Que Vo district to work with the Department of Construction to review the planning of Phu Lang pottery village in association with tourism development, ensuring the planning of raw material areas for production development; urgently complete the application for recognition of the title of craft village artisan; research and propose to build a center for conservation, introduction and promotion of ceramic products in Phu Lang commune in the direction of socialization.
The Department of Planning and Investment develops a trade promotion program, advertises and introduces the unique features of Phu Lang ceramic products in provinces and cities across the country as well as on the media, Tuan added.
