Visiting "Intergenerational Self-Help" Club model in Thuong village, Canh Hung commune
(BNP) – On the morning of November 23, the Provincial Elderly Association and HelpAge International (HAI) in Vietnam visited the model of the "Intergenerational Self-Help" Club in Thuong village, Canh Hung commune, Tien Du district.

The "Intergenerational Self-Help" Club in Thuong village, Canh Hung commune was established in April 2024 with 57 members. The club operates towards the goal of using an intergenerational approach, self-help based on the community; supporting the improvement of living conditions and renewal of spiritual life for the elderly in the community, especially helping the poor, near-poor and disadvantaged elderly in the community. Since its establishment, the club has implemented many activities such as: health care, increasing income, culture, arts, visiting, exchanging, home care based on volunteers, raising awareness, knowledge, self-help and community support...
During the visit, delegates attended the monthly meeting of the club, discussed the implementation results and sustainability of the club; shared experiences, initial achievements, difficulties that need support during the operation of the club; visited the actual model of caring for the elderly at home and the model of economic development to increase income of the elderly...
The project “Supporting disadvantaged elderly people through expanding intergenerational self-help clubs in Vietnam” is funded by the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) through HelpAge Korea (HAK). The project is implemented by HAI in Vietnam in cooperation with the Elderly Associations of 6 provinces and cities including: Hanoi, Hoa Binh, Hung Yen, Hai Duong, Bac Ninh and Ninh Binh, with technical support from the Vietnam Elderly Association. It will be implemented from December 2022 to November 2025.
