(BNP) - On the afternoon of June 5th, the Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee held a ceremony to award the Decision approving the investment policy and simultaneously approving the investor for two wind power projects in the province with a total capacity of 160MW and a total investment capital of over VND 6,032 billion. Mr. Pham Van Thinh, Member of the Standing Committee of the Provincial Party Committee and Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, attended and presided over the ceremony.

Attending the program were Mr. Michael Kratz, Counselor for Economic and Climate Diplomacy (German Embassy in Hanoi); Mr. Björn Koslowski, Deputy Head of the German Trade and Industry Delegation in Vietnam. Representing Bac Ninh province were leaders from the Departments of Finance, Industry and Trade, Agriculture and Environment, Construction, and the Provincial People's Committee Office, along with representatives from the investors.
At the ceremony, leaders of the Department of Finance announced decisions of the Bac Ninh Provincial People’s Committee approving the investment policy and investor selection for two major wind power projects, each with an operational term of 50 years from the date of land allocation or lease.
The first project, the SD Son Dong Wind Power Plant, will be developed by SD Dai Son Wind Power Joint Stock Company. With a total investment of more than VND 3.926 trillion, the project has a designed capacity of 105 MW, comprising 21 wind turbines of 5 MW each, and will be implemented in Son Dong, Van Son, Dai Son, and Yen Dinh communes. Once operational, the plant is expected to generate approximately 242,550 MWh of electricity annually.
The second project, Bac Giang 2 Wind Power Plant, will be invested in by a consortium of Germany’s ENERTRAG SE and ENERTRAG Vietnam Co., Ltd. The project has a designed capacity of 55 MW, featuring nine wind turbines with capacities ranging from 5.5 MW to 6.3 MW. Located in Tuan Dao, Duong Huu, and Son Dong communes, the project has a total investment capital of VND 2.106 trillion.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman Pham Van Thinh congratulated the two investors on completing the legal procedures to implement the project, and affirmed that renewable energy, especially wind power, is always a top priority in the local development strategy.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee Pham Van Thinh reaffirmed the province’s commitment to providing maximum support to accelerate project implementation, with the goal of bringing the projects into commercial operation in 2027.
He also expressed his hope that the German Embassy and the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Vietnam would continue to facilitate connections and introduce leading German enterprises in the fields of pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, and industrial robotics to invest in Bac Ninh, thereby expanding economic cooperation and attracting high-quality investment to the province.

Mr. Björn Koslowski, Deputy Chief Representative of the German Industry and Commerce Delegation in Vietnam, highly appreciated Bac Ninh’s investment environment and the confidence the province has placed in German enterprises. He noted that ENERTRAG Group’s wind power project would help enhance the province’s competitiveness and strengthen its position as a major industrial manufacturing hub associated with clean energy development. He also affirmed the Delegation’s commitment to continuing its role as a bridge between German businesses and Bac Ninh, helping attract more high-quality German investors to the province in the future.

Representing the investors, Mr. Asdin Hassin, Head of the Asian Market Division of ENERTRAG SE, expressed his delight that the Bac Giang 2 Wind Power Plant project had received investment approval after more than five years of preparation. He highly appreciated Bac Ninh’s favorable investment environment and the strong support provided by provincial authorities, describing the project as a testament to the effective cooperation between Vietnam and Germany. Mr. Hassin also reaffirmed ENERTRAG’s commitment to implementing the project on schedule and exploring opportunities to expand investment in advanced energy technologies in the province.
