“One commune one product” Program in the period of 2018 - 2020
(BNP) - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huu Thanh signed the Decision No.2132/QD-UBND, approving the project “One commune one product Program" in Bac Ninh province in the period of 2018 - 2020, orientation to 2030 (written as OCOP Program).

The objectives of the scheme are to develop the various forms of production and business (taking priority to the development of cooperatives, small and medium enterprises), to produce traditional products and services with the advantages of standardization and competitiveness in the domestic and international markets, contributing to the increase of the rural economy towards the endogenous and value-added development.
According to the Decision, the province strives to build up the organizational structure of OCOP from provincial to commune level by 2020, to apply synchronously policies for effective program implementation, to focus on developing and standardizing at least 50% of the existing products, especially key and potential products of the province; to consolidate all enterprises, cooperatives with products participating in the OCOP; to develop at least 10 enterprises and cooperatives, and build at least 4 OCOP’s products stores.
From 2021 to 2030, the OCOP program will be into depth, linking agricultural development with other economic sectors, focusing on improving product quality. The aims are to develop at least 03 OCOP products reaching 5-star level nationwide; to deploy at least 02 models of cultural tourism villages, and to maintain at least 08 OCOP stores in the province.
In order to achieve these objectives, the Provincial People's Committee assigned the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development to be the standing unit of the OCOP program, advising the Provincial Steering Committee on the implementation of the scheme. In particular, the department takes responsibility to raise awareness of officials at all levels, propagate regularly and widely in various forms about the program, build OCOP's management and operation apparatus from provincial to commune level.
In addition, the department keeps carrying out the current policies of the state and the province on the development of rural trades, agricultural development, rural areas; providing human resource training courses for OCOP managers, staffs of small and medium enterprises, cooperatives and business households; developing and implementing science and technology policies for OCOP products in the direction of applying research and development; rising product standardization, consultancy support system for OCOP program as well as mobilizing resources, strengthening domestic and international cooperation to improve the effectiveness of the project.
