“Vietnamese children reaching out to the world’ programme presented prizes in Bac Ninh province
(BNP) - On December 26-27, at the Kinh Bac Cultural Center, the Central Council of Ho Chi Minh Young Pioneer Organization (Council) held the review and award ceremony of “Vietnamese children reaching out to the world’ programme with the theme “ASEAN identities”.

“Vietnamese children reaching out to the world’ programme event aims to improve the Vietnamese children’s knowledge about the country’s traditional culture, promote the national cultural traits to international friends, as well as motivate young learners to study English and be a healthy playground for all of them to make their creation.
Selected from more than 4,000 teams participating in the six-month competition, 23 teams with 57 pupils from 16 provinces and cities nationwide took part in the two-day event. In the first round, students can send their video clips, within the duration from 2-5 minutes, figuring their hometown’s culture. Vietnamese language or English language can be used in the video. In the second round, 63 outstanding teams selected from the first round will be drawn into 9 groups of 7 teams. Each group is assigned for task of representing a country in ASEAN, including Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore’s and Thailand. Each team makes a video to introduce a cultural trait of an ASEAN country as assigned. The Video uses English language and its subtitle is in Vietnamese language.
In the final found, all the teams participated in a forum “Children with the promotion of Vietnamese cultural identity”. At the forum, each team raise their ideas, opinions, innovations, and contributions to the help improve children’s essential skills and responsibilities for promoting the country’s cultural identity.
At the end of the program, the Organizing Committee awarded the first prize to Luong Duc Hieu team from Bac Ninh province and Rain Bow team from unit of Hai Phong province; awarded 7 second prizes and 14 third prizes to teams participating in the contest. In addition, the Council also awarded Certificates of Merit to teams including Hai Phong city, Ha Tinh province, Nghe An, Thai Nguyen, Bac Giang and Bac Ninh…
