Bac Ninh commends 94 outstanding Heads of Women’s Association in 2024

Participants at the conference were Mrs. Nguyen Huong Giang, Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee (PPC) and Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Council; Mrs. Nguyen Thi Ha, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Chairwoman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; Mr. Le Xuan Loi, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; representatives from the VWU; leaders of the provincial departments, branches and sectors; leaders of districts, towns and cities; Chairwomen of Women’s Union at district and commune level, as well as 94 outstanding Heads.

Implementing the Resolution of the Women’s Congress at all levels, and closely following the orientation and direction of the VWU’s Central Committee and the PPC, the Provincial Women’s Union has focused on directing the effective implementation of emulation movements, campaigns, breakthroughs and key tasks of the Union.

The province currently has 734 Heads of Women’s Association, aged 42-70, the oldest of whom has worked for 34 years. They are dedicated, responsible, creative, pioneering, persistent union officials, closely associated with women members and the people, thereby, actively contributing to the overall results of women’s movement in the province in each period.

Speaking at the conference, Standing Deputy Secretary Nguyen Huong Giang acknowledged and commended the results and achievements that officials, members and women from all walks of life in the province have achieved. At the same time, they continue to effectively carry out the patriotic emulation movement, the movement of “Building Bac Ninh’s women in the new era: knowledgeable, moral, healthy, responsible for themselves, their families and society” associated with Conclusion No. 01 on continuing to implement Directive No. 05 of the 12^th Politburo, she added.

Giang also requested that the Party Committee, the authority, departments, branches and organizations would pay attention and create a source of female leaders, creating favorable conditions for the work of the Women's Union and the Women's movement in the province to develop more. The functional agencies need to preserve and promote the fine traditional cultural identity of women in Bac Ninh - Kinh Bac; uphold the role of women and Women’s Unions at all levels in socio-economic development, contributing to building the province increasingly rich, beautiful and civilized, she stressed.

At the conference, 20 outstanding and exemplary Heads of Women’s Association received Certificates of Merit from the Provincial People’s Committee; 45 women received Certificates of Merit from the Provincial Women’s Union; 29 Heads with achievements in the Union’s work and women’s movement in 2024 were praised.

On this occasion, the Provincial Women’s Union presented 18 gifts to Heads who encounter difficult circumstances and serious illnesses. At the same time, the Vietnam Women’s Newspaper presented scholarships to 5 students affected by traffic accidents who are in especially difficult circumstances.

On same day, the Provincial Women’s Union and the Project Authority of the Vietnam Climate Innovation Center (VCIC) organized the signing of a memorandum of understanding on cooperation to support green startups and promote economic empowerment for women.
