Bac Ninh wins 4 medals at National Fencing Championships
(BNP) – After 4 days of competition (May 17th to 20th 2018), Bac Ninh fencing team won 2 gold medals and 2 bronze medals at 9th National Fencing Championships in 2018.

Accordingly, Pham Nhat Anh fought under 17-men’s sabre with a gold medal; Tran Huy Hoang won a gold medal in men’s epee in under 18 to 20 age group. The cadet fighters’ bronze medals went to Tran Anh Tuan in under 17-men’s sabre and Pham Thi Thu Hoai in under 18 – 20 women’s epee.
Bac Ninh fencing team ranked 3rd with total of 4 medals of all kinds, behind Thanh Hoa and Hai Phong.
The 9th National Fencing Championships in 2018 attracted 112 athletes from 7 provinces, cities and sectors nationwide including Ha Noi, Hai Phong, Ho Chi Minh City, Bac Ninh, Thanh Hoa, Hai Duong and the Ministry of Public Security. Athletes will compete in 3 categories including sabre, foil and epee, and divide into 2 groups of age: under 17, 18 – 20.
Attending the tournament, Bac Ninh team sent 15 athletes participating in 2 groups of ages and competing in three contents (sabre, foil and epee).
On May 21st, athletes continued to compete in women's epee, men’s sabre categories in under 18 to 20 age group.
