Dong Lam Pagoda - place to teach beautiful morals of Buddhism

(BNP) – Dong Lam pagoda (Bao Phuc pagoda), Quynh Phu commune, Gia Binh district, was built around the time of Le Trung Hung (XVII century) with a large scale. The old temple is the place of the monks and nuns in the region come to study every year; a place to teach the beautiful morals of Buddhism to Buddhists in the region.

Currently, Dong Lam Pagoda is located on a beautiful land located in the land of Dong Chua, south of Dong Lam village. The main architectural work is the Tam Bao (Three Treasures) building.

The pagoda includes works: Tam Bao, Ancestral House, Mother House, Lecture Hall.


 

The Mother house is being built with 5 compartments.


 

The roof of the pagoda is designed in a traditional style.


 

The Ancestral House was built in 2012 including 3 compartments.


The bronze bell "Bao Phuc Tu Hong Chung" was cast in 1828 during the reign of Minh Menh 9.


The ancient wall in the temple grounds is still preserved to this day.

Many ancient works and objects are preserved by the pagoda.

In the relic, there are still many documents and ancient artifacts from the Le and Nguyen dynasties, including: A bronze bell " Bao Phuc Tu Hong Chung " was cast in 1828; 3 post-Buddhist steles were engraved in 1820, 1826, 1914; stone incense was built in 1680 and 15 Buddha statues of high artistic value.
