Grow nearly 3,500 hectares of winter crops

(BNP) – At present, farmers in the province are focusing on planting winter crops. As of October 30th, the province has planted nearly 3,500 ha of winter crops, reaching 49.1% of the plan.

In particular, the total area includes 561 hectares of maize, 290 hectares of potato, 18.5 hectares of sweet potato and 20 hectares of soybeans.

At present, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development continues to guide farmers to cultivate the winter crop as planned, well irrigate the area of winter crops, pay attention to the weather conditions, the growth of plants, the harmful pests, and diseases for timely settlement.

According to the plan, in the winter of 2018 - 2019, the province strives to cultivate 7,100 ha of crops, mainly potato, sweet potato, pumpkin, carrots and green vegetables.
