Historical and cultural relic of Tam Tao little temple

(BNP) - Tam Tao little temple, Phu Lam commune, Tien Du district has a long-standing capital that has survived time and battle, with numerous restoration and embellishment attempts. During the Nguyen Dynasty, it was a center for local religious activity.


 

Tam Tao little temple worships two generals, Dao Dat and Dao Minh who had merit in assisting Thuc An Duong Vuong in defeating the invading Trieu Da army and creating a school to instruct and encourage farmers to enhance production and expand their company. Kinh Bac religion is Trang Tam Tao. The relic now consists of the following components: a gate, 5-compartment Tien bai, 1-compartment Emperor’s Harem and ancillary works.


The little temple is located at the end of the village, surrounded by rice fields stretching…


The gate of Tam Tao little temple is also the gate of Tam Tao pagoda, built on a large scale, according to ancient architecture.


In front of the little temple is folding screen.


In front is a large lake, creating a cool landscape for the relic.


Tien bai building has 5 compartments.


Many architectural blocks still bear the imprint of the Nguyen Dynasty.


 

The emperor’s harem is where two thrones are placed in order to honor two generals, Dao Dat and Dao Minh.


 

Many priceless ancient items are still kept in the little temple such as: thrones, tablets, altars, sets of eight treasures, horizontal lacquered board, couplets...

Next to the little temple is the relic of Tam Tao pagoda.


 

The festival of the little temple coincides with the Tam Tao communal house and the Phu Quoc temple festival, which is held on the 10th day of the second lunar month every year. Tam Tao little temple has been ranked as a provincial-level historical-cultural relic according to Decision No. 143/QD-UBND, dated February 1, 2016.
