Industrial production in May grows double digits
(BNP) - After a sharp decline in April due to impact of the Covid-19 epidemic, in May, the province’s industrial production achieved double-digit growth compared to the previous month.
Manufacturing and processing food is one of the industries with high growth index.
According to Office of Statistic, Industrial Production Index (IIP) in May increased by 11.4% compared to the previous month. Of which, the processing and manufacturing industry increased by 11.3%; the industry of electricity production and distribution increased by 7.8%; the industry of water supply and sewage treatment management increased by 66.1%.
In the manufacturing and processing industry, 16 out of 20 industries saw an increase from the previous month with an increase from 2.2% to 84.9%. In particular, some industries had higher growth than the general rise index as food manufacturing and processing; manufacturing of beverages; manufacturing of costumes; manufacturing of metal; manufacturing of metal products; manufacturing of electric equipment…
Accumulated 5 months, IIP of the whole industry decreased by 6.7% over the same period last year. In particular, the processing and manufacturing industry decreased by 6.7%; the industry of electricity production and distribution increased by 8.7%; the industry of water supply and wastewater treatment management decreased by 15.6%.
