National Karate Championship and National Youth Karate Championship open

(BNP) – On the evening of October 3, at Phu Son Hotel, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in coordination with the General Department of Sports and Sports (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) held the opening of the National Karate Championship and the National Youth Karate Championship in 2020.

This year's tournament attracted more than 800 athletes from 40 provinces, cities and sectors nationwide. Among which, more than 260 athletes participated in the National Karate Championship and more than 600 athletes took part in the National Youth Karate Championship.

Athletes will compete in two categories including Kata and Kumite at the National Youth Karate Championship. Bac Ninh team has 28 athletes participating and competing in both events.  Particularly, 10 athletes of Bac Ninh teams compete in the Kumite category at the National Karate Championship,

The tournament is a practical activity to successfully celebrate the twentieth Provincial Communist Party Congress, term 2020 - 2025; celebrate the 112th anniversary of the birth of comrade Ngo Gia Tu (December 3, 1908 - 2020); continue to promote the campaign “Every person exercises their bodies following the great example of Uncle Ho". This is also an opportunity to introduce and promote the economic, cultural, sports and tourist potential of the province to domestic friends and tourists.

The National Youth Karate Championship took place from October 4 to 8 and the National Karate Championship took place from October 9-16 at the Provincial Multi-Purpose Stadium.
