Naval Region 3 launches "HiGreen - For green Truong Sa" running challenge

The launching ceremony was attended by more than 2,000 officers and soldiers from agencies and units of Naval Region 3 and officers and employees of the Military Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MB) - Da Nang branch.

The "HiGreen – For a Green Truong Sa" running challenge is a joint program between the Naval Service and MB. It lasts from October 1 to December 19, 2024. Community members can participate individually or in teams.

For every 1.5 km completed, the organizers contribute VND 3,000 to a fund aimed at planting trees in Truong Sa Island District, Khanh Hoa Province, with a budget target of VND 10 billion, sponsored by MB.

Each military personnel from Naval Region 3 is required to complete at least 20 km during the program. This effort translates to a contribution of VND 60,000 per participant to the Truong Sa reforestation fund.

The program aims to foster patriotism and love for the national sea and islands, promote physical activity and healthy living habits among the community, increase green environment and improve the quality of life for people in Truong Sa. The campaign is also part of activities in celebrations of the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Vietnam People's Army and the 35th anniversary of the Whole-people Defense Festive Day.

This is a practical activity to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam People's Army (December 22, 1944 - 2024) and the 35th anniversary of National Defense Day (December 22, 1989 - 2024).
