Nearly 500 officials and teachers participate in sports tournament to celebrate Vietnamese Teachers’ Day
(BNP) - On November 10, the Department of Education and Training and the Education Trade Union jointly organized a badminton and table tennis tournament; a tug of war competition; and a folk dance and dance exchange for officials, teachers, and employees of affiliated units in 2024 at Bac Ninh High School for the Gifted (Bac Ninh city).
Leaders of the Department of Education and Training, Education Trade Union, and Provincial Labor Confederation present souvenir flags to the units participating in the tournament.
This year’s sports tournament attracted the participation of 475 athletes who are teachers, employees of affiliated units from 8 school clusters in 8 districts, towns and cities in the province, competing in the following sports: badminton, table tennis, and tug of war.
Badminton was competed in 3 categories: men’s doubles, women’s doubles, mixed doubles (including age groups: 35 years old and under; from 36 to under 45 years old; under 40 years old; 40 years old and over; 45 years old and over). Table tennis was played without age groups, including 3 categories: men’s doubles, women’s doubles, mixed doubles. For tug of war, each cluster sent a team of 10 members (5 men, 5 women) to compete with other teams in order of drawing lots.
Interspersed with the exciting and dramatic badminton, table tennis, and tug-of-war competitions, beautiful folk dance and ballroom were performed by the units, contributing to creating a joyful and exciting atmosphere for the sports tournament.
The sports tournament is a practical activity to celebrate the 42nd anniversary of Vietnamese Teachers’ Day (November 20, 1982-2024). It is an opportunity for schools, officials, teachers, and employees in the education sector to exchange and learn from each other, and strengthen solidarity. At the same time, it discovers more outstanding individuals and groups in the movement “healthy to work and study”, select excellent athletes to train and participate in provincial and national competitions.
At the end of the tournament, the Organizing Committee will award First, Second, and Third prizes to the whole team and award prizes according to each content and age group.
