Opening ceremony of Exhibition house of Cultural Heritage of Dong Ho folk painting craft and activities in response to Festival 2023

Delegates cut ribbon to open Exhibition house.

Attending the event were leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, Thuan Thanh district and a large number of people and tourists.

Dong Ho folk paintings are the most famous, typical and unique of the four lines of Vietnamese folk paintings. Currently, Dong Ho folk painting profession has been recognized as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2012 and is preparing a dossier to request UNESCO to include it in the list of Intangible Cultural Heritage in need of urgent protection.

Dong Ho Folk Painting Conservation Center is invested and built by the province on a scale and quite synchronous, bearing bold traditional architectural identity. In particular, the exhibition house has an area of over 500m2 with more than 1,000 documents and artifacts researched and collected from artisan families and local people.

The overall exhibition house is divided into 3 parts: (Part 1) Overview of the history and cultural quintessence of Dong Ho village; (Part 2) Values, characteristics and uniqueness of Dong Ho folk painting profession; (Part 3) Conservation and promotion of Dong Ho folk painting craft.
