Pigeon flying contest of Bac Ninh province in 2018
(BNP) – At the area of Ly Thai To King statue, Bac Ninh Association of Ornamental Creatures, in the morning of May 1st, held a pigeon flying contest in celebration of 43rd anniversary of National Reunification (April 30th, 1975-2018), 132nd anniversary of International Labor Day (May 1st, 1886-2018) and 128th bird anniversary of late President Ho Chi Minh (May 19th, 1890-2018).

Attending the contest were comrades: Nguyen Nhan Chien, Member of Party Central Committee, Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Head of Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Members; Nguyen Tu Quynh, Deputy Secretary of Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee; Nguyen Huong Giang, Chairwoman of Provincial People's Council; members of Provincial Party Standing Committee; leaders of departments, localities and a great number of bird-breeding-artisans, and people inside and outside the province.
Speaking at the contest, Chairman of Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Tu Quynh stressed that in the process of striving to become a centrally-run city, in addition to focusing on socio-economic development, the province has always tended to build the image of a peaceful, friendly Bac Ninh, where would become an attractive, impressive destination of visitors.
The Chairman suggested Association of Ornamental Creatures to actively take care of, protect and step by step expand flock of pigeon and pigeon breeding model in localities in the province. At the same time, each citizen was requested to raise their responsibility, join hands to contribute to turning pigeons into a new cultural identity, demonstrating friendly and peaceful image of Bac Ninh city in particular and of the province in general.
There are 200 flocks of birds joining the contest being from Associations of Ornamental Creatures of Thuan Thanh district (80 flocks), Que Vo district (50 flocks), Tien Du district (40 flocks), Yen Phong district (10 flocks), Gia Binh district (10 flocks) and Tu Son town (10 flocks).
It deserved a meaningful activity which expressed aspiration of freedom and peace while contributes to preserving, promoting an elegant and healthy enjoyment of Bac Ninh people - Kinh Bac people to tourists all over the country.
