Press conference held to inform socio-economic development in first six months

In the first 6 months, due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the province has taken various measures to remove difficulties for production and business and promote comprehensive development in all fields so as not to fight against epidemic, but also ensure socio-economic development and social security.

Specifically, Bac Ninh province successfully held the elections of deputies to the 15th National Assembly (NA) and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 tenure with a voter turnout rate of 99.07%. The Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) in the first 6 months increased by 7.45% compared with the same period; state budget revenue rose by 7.5%; credit forecast increased by 20.5%; industrial production index increased by 10.88%; export of goods increased by 29.7%; production value of agriculture, forestry and fishery rose by 8.1%, etc.

The fields of culture and society are attached importance; social security work is ensured. Education and training continued to affirm its position and spearhead education quality at 7th nationwide in terms of the percentage of prize winners at the National Competition for Excellent Students for 2020 – 2021 academic year; 03 students permitted to participate in the Asian Olympic Competition, 01 student permitted to participate in the European Olympic Competition; 01 project winning the third prize of the International Science and Technology Contest 2021.

At the press conference, Permanent Vice Chairman Vuong Quoc Tuan and leaders from relevant sectors answered journalists’ questions including solutions to promote economic growth in the context of the Covid-19 epidemic as well as directions and tasks in the last 6 months of the year; the effectiveness of the arrangement for workers to stay and work at the factory; Covid-19 vaccines purchase and vaccination plan; environmental pollution; agricultural product consumption in the context of the Covid-19 epidemic and so on.

Tuan thanked to the companionship of the reporters during the province’s socio-economic development, especially, in the fight against Covid-19.

He hoped that the press agencies, in the spirit of building and sharing, will continue to accurately and boldly reflect the socio-economic development activities of the province, thereby, contributing to making Bac Ninh province even more developed towards a centrally-run city in the future.

On this occasion, the Permanent Vice Chairman awarded the Certificate of Merit of the Chairwoman of the Provincial People's Committee to the journalists from central agencies for propaganda achievement  in Covid-19 control and the elections of deputies to the 15th National Assembly (NA) and People's Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 tenure.
