Total fishery output in the first quarter reaches 9,496 tons
(BNP) – According to the report of the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, in the first quarter of 2019, the total output of fishery in the province reached 9,496 tons, up 3.35% over the same period.
Fish cage farming in rivers in many localities brings high economic efficiency.
Aquaculture area in the province has grown to over 5,200ha. The number of cages in the river reaches 1,763 cages, an increase of 8.29% compared to the same period of 2018, of which 4 establishments raise from 80 cages or more, with a yield of 4-6 tons of fish/cage.
Currently, the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development, localities are supporting and creating favorable conditions for enterprises, cooperatives and households to expand aquaculture areas; boost the application of scientific advances in production, especially VietGAP model, preserving the ecological environment,... contributing to increasing production efficiency and developing a sustainable fishery sector, striving for a total output of 39,000 tons
