At the meeting, representative from IFC appreciated Bac Ninh province’s achievements in both socio-economic development and environmental protection. He also mentioned IFC’s intention to support finance for the high-tech solid waste-to-energy treatment plant project in Thuan Thanh district and hoped to get information about the province's waste treatment planning in general and the scale of the above project in particular, so that the project will soon be effectively put into operation.

For his part, Vice Chairman Dao Quang Khai gave an overview of the province’s outstanding achievements in socio-economic development during the last time with the focus on both economic development and environmental protection. He informed that all three projects of high-tech solid waste-to-energy treatment plants in Que Vo, Luong Tai and Thuan Thanh districts of the province are now pushed up construction. Once put into operation, these plants will basically help to remove domestic waste problem for a greener, cleaner and more beautiful Bac Ninh.

He hoped for the continued cooperation between Bac Ninh province and the IFC to strengthen the environmental protection in the province.

Also at the meeting, Khai and leaders of relevant departments classified several issue’s IFC’s interest such as process of evaluation and selection of investor for waste treatment plant projects in the province; solutions to speed up the construction progress as well as to support workers in the waste treatment areas and small-scale incinerators when these plants come into operation.
