Vietnam wins at 7th Southeast Asia Karate Federation Championship
(BNP) – After 3 days of competition (April 23rd to 25th), Vietnamese team won the first place with a total of 92 medals at the 7th Southeast Asia Championships, among which, Bac Ninh brought 7 medals.

After 3 days of competition, Vietnamese team ranked the first with 92 medals including 30 gold medals, 25 silver medals and 37 bronze medals. Indonesia team ranked 2nd with 44 medals (9 gold medals, 11 silver medals and 24 bronze medals). Thailand team came in 3rd with 21 medals (7 gold medals, 5 silver medals and 9 bronze medals).
In this tournament, Bac Ninh had 6 athletes taking part in competition with 7 medals. In particular, Bui Van Chuyen fought in the senior’s men U57kg with a gold medal; the cadet fighters’ bronze medals went to Tran Manh Kien in the men’s U70kg, Ngo Van Hung in the men’s U55kg, Le Huy Duc in the men’s U75kg, Hoang Van Tam in the men’s U80kg and Nguyen Van Nhat in the men’s U67kg.
This competition created a good chance for athletes from Southeast Asian countries to exchange experience and sharpen their skills as well as strengthen friendship in the common house of ASEAN.
