Anh was born in 1999 in Vu Duong hamlet, Bong Lai, Que Vo (the province's wrestling cradle). Her talent was quickly recognized by coach Tran Cong Bac, Provincial Sports Training and Competition Center when she was 12 years old. The challenges built up in the early days away from family, not only because they were unfamiliar with the new environment, fatigued from the intensity and volume of training, but the most wanting was being away from the caring arms of parents.
Anh became increasingly fascinated in and determined to remain with wrestling as she trained and learned more about it. Anh had been a member of the talented team for over a year before being chosen to compete in the young championship. Anh's accomplishments have been mentioned since 2013, when he earned the Gold Medal in the National Championship of Young Freestyle and Classical Wrestling.
From 2014 – 2019, Anh won 8 Gold Medals at the Southeast Asian Youth Championship; 3 Gold Medals at the National Championship from 2019 – 2022 and 4 Gold Medals at the National Cup from 2018 – 2022.
At 2022 National Sports Festival, Tran Thi Anh is the only female athlete to win the Gold Medal, 65 kg category, freestyle wrestling, contributing to the overall performance of wrestling in the province.
Currently, Anh is being recruited to the National Wrestling Team to prepare for international tournaments, initially at the ASIAD taking place in October 2023. Sharing about her future plans, Anh said that her dream will be to go further with her passion for sports, passion for wrestling and conquering more major tournaments, bringing joy and pride to her family and homeland. With that determination, she will work hard to practice, promising to continue to bring glory to her province and the country.
