Bac Ninh Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organizes many activities to celebrate 80th anniversary of Traditional Day of Vietnamese Sports and Physical Education Sector

(BNP) - The Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Bac Ninh province has just issued Plan on organizing activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnamese Sports and Physical Education Sector (March 27, 1946 - 2026).

The Plan aims to create a joyful and enthusiastic atmosphere among officials, coaches, athletes, and those involved in the development of physical education and sports in the province; and at the same time, practically celebrate many important cultural events of the province such as: the ceremony to receive the UNESCO certificate recognizing the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son - Kiet Bac Complex of Monuments and Scenic Spots as a World Cultural Heritage site; the event to register the Dong Ho folk painting craft; and the "Returning to the Heritage Region - 2026" Festival.

According to the plan, many sports events will be organized to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnamese Sports and Physical Education Sector (March 27, 1946 – 2026), including: Freestyle and traditional wrestling competitions; the Olympic Run for Public Health and the provincial cross-country race; traditional martial arts competitions; chess and Chinese chess competitions, etc. These activities are expected to take place from the end of February to the end of March 2026, and will be organized by Bac Ninh Sports Training and Competition Centers No. 01 and No. 02.

Specifically, the 80th anniversary celebration of the Traditional Day of the Vietnamese Sports and Physical Education Sector is scheduled to take place on the morning of March 21, 2026, and will include two main activities:

- The Culture, Sports and Tourism Sector Sports Festival will feature competitions in two disciplines: Tug-of-war and Pickleball, with the participation of civil servants, employees, and workers from the Department's Office and affiliated units.

- The program commemorating the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnamese Sports and Physical Education Sector will be attended by approximately 200 delegates, including provincial leaders, representatives from various departments and agencies, and outstanding figures from the local sports sector. At the meeting, delegates will review the 80-year journey of building and developing the Vietnamese sports and physical education sector, and present awards at the sports competition and commendations to outstanding teams and individuals.
