Bac Ninh opens Film Week to celebrate 24th Vietnam Film Festival

(BNP) - On the evening of November 14, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Bac Ninh organized the opening ceremony of the Film Week to celebrate the 24th Vietnam Film Festival at the Provincial Culture - Exhibition Center.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Trinh Huu Hung emphasized that the 24th Vietnam Film Festival is an important cultural and artistic event to honor new cinematographic works with creative, humanistic and Vietnamese cultural identity, thereby, contributing to the development of a modern and integrated film industry.

The film week in Bac Ninh is a meaningful activity to promote cultural and artistic exchanges, promote tourism through cinema; improve spiritual life, foster love for homeland and country; show gratitude for the contributions of previous generations; educate the younger generation about revolutionary traditions, arouse the spirit of solidarity and creativity, contributing to building an increasingly civilized and prosperous homeland.

Within the framework of the Film Week, audiences will enjoy outstanding cinematographic works that vividly reflect the history of revolutionary struggles and the cause of building and defending the Fatherland. Notably, on November 14-15, the Provincial Cultural and Exhibition Center will screen the film “Red Rain” produced by the People’s Army Cinema.

On behalf of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, comrade Trinh Huu Hung expressed his thanks to the Vietnam Cinema Department, the People's Army Cinema, the accompanying units and businesses, especially VNPT Bac Ninh and Bac Ha Technical and Technology Services Joint Stock Company for their support in organizing the successful Film Week.

At the opening ceremony, the Organizing Committee and sponsors presented gifts to war invalids, sick soldiers, policy families, and people affected by Agent Orange, demonstrating the morality of "When drinking water, remember its source".

According to the plan, on November 15, the Provincial Cultural - Exhibition Center will continue to screen the film "Red Rain" for free to serve the people. From November 14 to 20, the Provincial Cultural and Tourism Promotion Center will organize mobile film screenings in villages, hamlets, and residential groups in the area. In addition to "Red Rain", many outstanding films will be screened on this occasion, including: Dao, Pho and Piano, The Smell of Burning Grass, The Returner, Quan Tien Legend, 17th Parallel Days and Nights, Hanoi 12 Days and Nights, I See Yellow Flowers on the Green Grass, Ringed Birds, August Stars, Prophet...
