(BNP) - On the afternoon of December 29th, the Ministry of Health held a national conference to summarize healthcare work in 2025; review the 2021-2025 term; set directions for the 2026-2030 term; and implement key tasks for 2026.

Attending the conference at the main venue were Mr. Le Thanh Long, Deputy Prime Minister; Mrs. Dao Hong Lan, Minister of Health.
At the Bac Ninh provincial venue, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Le Xuan Loi chaired the conference. Also attending the conference were Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Ms. Tran Thi Van, Deputy Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies; leaders of the Department of Health; and representatives from relevant departments, agencies, and units.
During the 2021-2025 period, many indicators of the health sector achieved and exceeded the plan, affirming development in scale, quality, and efficiency. The field of medical examination and treatment continued to develop in a specialized and modern direction. Preventive medicine, disease prevention, and primary healthcare were firmly consolidated. Social security and health support were expanded, contributing to ensuring equity in healthcare. Digital transformation in healthcare has yielded clear initial results.
The reorganization of the organizational structure was implemented in a streamlined, effective, and efficient manner. The health sector has completed 3 out of 3 key socio-economic targets assigned by the National Assembly for 2025, including the percentage of the population participating in health insurance, the number of doctors, and the number of hospital beds per 10,000 people.
The sector achieved and exceeded 8 out of 9 professional targets assigned by the Government, specifically: The health insurance coverage rate is estimated at 95.15% of the population, exceeding the set target; 15 doctors per 10,000 people; 34.5 hospital beds per 10,000 people; the average life expectancy of the people reached approximately 74.8 years... These results demonstrate the sector's efforts in ensuring the goals of people's healthcare...
At the conference, delegates discussed several issues regarding the requirements, content, and implementation roadmap of the National Target Program on healthcare, population, and development for the period 2026-2030. These included developing a healthcare system in major urban areas and ensuring healthcare for the people in the southwestern border region.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long acknowledged and commended the achievements of the health sector during the 2021-2025 period.
In the coming period, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long requested the health sector to effectively implement the resolutions and policies of the Party and State on the health sector. He also called for the comprehensive improvement of institutions and the effective implementation of legal regulations on protecting, caring for, and improving the health of the people during the 2026-2030 period. Furthermore, he emphasized the need to develop mechanisms to effectively attract private investors to participate in the health sector.
At the same time, the Deputy Prime Minister requested the sector to accelerate digital transformation, apply digital technology in all areas of operation of the health sector, and form a smart healthcare system; complete the construction of health databases ensuring standards for connection, sharing, and synchronous interoperability; develop healthcare human resources in terms of expertise, improve the efficiency of scientific and technological activities, and innovate in the health sector; create a clear shift in medical ethics so that every medical officer, doctor, and nurse truly embodies the spirit of "a good doctor is like a loving mother," as taught by President Ho Chi Minh.

Immediately after the conference, Vice Chairman Le Xuan Loi requested the Bac Ninh Health sector to fully absorb the directives from the Central Government, concretize them into key tasks and solutions for 2026, and focus on effectively implementing 9 groups of tasks; continue to promote digital transformation in healthcare, effectively implement electronic medical records at public and private healthcare facilities; gradually build a paperless hospital model, aiming towards smart hospitals, in line with the digital transformation tasks of the Bac Ninh province's healthcare sector in 2026 and beyond, ensuring specific progress and roadmap, etc.
The Vice Chairman also requested the launch of a nationwide emulation movement, linking emulation results with reward and recognition.
