IOM provides emergency aid to support disaster-affected provinces of Lang Son, Cao Bang, Thai Nguyen, and Bac Ninh

(BNP) - The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment has just issued a Decision on receiving emergency international aid from the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in Vietnam for relief in the provinces of Lang Son, Cao Bang, Thai Nguyen, and Bac Ninh.

Accordingly, IOM in Vietnam is expected to provide non-refundable aid of VND 7,202,450,000 to distribute cash to 2,000 households affected by natural disasters (500 households from each province) in the following provinces: Lang Son, Cao Bang, Thai Nguyen, and Bac Ninh.

Beneficiaries are households affected by storm Matmo and the floods after the storm, including: Poor households, near-poor households, and households in difficult circumstances; households with members in vulnerable groups (elderly people, people with disabilities, children, ethnic minorities, pregnant or breastfeeding women, single women heads of households, single parents raising school-age children, etc.); households in remote areas, areas that are difficult to access; households that have not received support from other sources.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Environment requested the People's Committees of Lang Son, Cao Bang, Thai Nguyen, and Bac Ninh provinces to direct focal units to organize the reception and allocation of the above emergency aid to ensure the correct beneficiaries according to the donor's criteria, publicly and transparently according to regulations; and arrange funding for related activities./.
