(BNP) - On October 24, at Tu Son ward, the Customs Branch of Region V organized the signing ceremony of a Memorandum of Understanding with Luxshare - ICT Vietnam Company Limited on cooperation in applying science, technology, innovation and digital transformation in customs management and supporting businesses in the customs sector; training on digital transformation.

Attending the conference ceremony were Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Dao Quang Khai; leaders of the Customs Department and a number of enterprises in the province.

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman Dao Quang Khai gave an overview of the socio -economic development situation of Bac Ninh province. He said that after the administrative boundary merger, Bac Ninh province (new) continued its development momentum with many indicators being among the leading group in the country.

In the period of 2026 - 2030, Bac Ninh province strives to maintain a double-digit growth rate of 11 - 12%/year, based on 3 development pillars: Industry - urban - trade and services.

Vice Chairman Dao Quang Khai acknowledged that the Customs Sub-Department of Region V has always paid attention to and focused on digital transformation and the application of information technology in management. At the same time, it has done a good job of developing the Customs - Business partnership with many forms and rich content, especially signing a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the application of science, technology, and digital transformation with a number of businesses in the management area.

He emphasized that the digital transformation journey of Bac Ninh province still has many difficulties and challenges. However, with the established foundation and the cooperation of the entire political system, the contributions of units, Bac Ninh province will achieve many achievements in the digital age, contributing to the strategic goals set by the 1st Provincial Party Congress, term 2025 - 2030.

At the conference, the leaders of the Customs Branch of Region V and Luxshare - ICT Vietnam Limited Liability Company agreed to sign a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in the following areas: Information exchange and experience sharing in the field of digital transformation and innovation; coordination in building capacity building programs on applying science and technology and digital transformation for customs officials through training, coaching, and seminars; consultation in building customs IT systems; support policy information and support in removing obstacles in customs management procedures...

Within the framework of the conference, delegates and businesses listened to representatives of the Information Technology Department, Customs Department introduce and train some contents on current digital transformation awareness; digital transformation trends in the Customs sector; digital transformation plan, implementation of centralized customs clearance model towards Digital Customs - Smart Customs...

Representatives from businesses highly appreciated the efforts of the Customs sector in recent times, especially the implementation of electronic systems, helping businesses save time and costs in the process of carrying out customs procedures. From some remaining problems, businesses proposed that the Customs sector research the digitalization of all import-export documents and build a shared electronic data warehouse between relevant parties; increase the application of automation and artificial intelligence (AI) in the inspection and reporting process; have an integrated legal data platform, helping businesses easily look up regulations related to each import-export item; develop a unified digital platform and move towards a "paperless - contactless" model in the entire import-export process...
