01 farmer of Bac Ninh receives title "Outstanding Vietnamese Farmer" in 2024

Among the 63 outstanding Vietnamese farmers, Bac Ninh province honored Mr. Vu Van Chien (born in 1968, in Kieu Luong village, Duc Long commune, Que Vo town), Director of Chien Thang Agricultural and Aquaculture Service Cooperative.

Mr. Vu Van Chien is one of the pioneers of cage fish farming on the Duong river. By 2019, he and other caged fish farming households in Duc Long commune established the Chien Thang Agricultural and Aquaculture Service Cooperative with 11 members. To date, the cooperative has grown to 16 members with a total of 370 fish cages, producing about 1,200 tons of fish per year, with a revenue of about VND 40 billion.

In 2024, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Union honored 63 outstanding farmers in 4 groups and fields: Agricultural production, business and services; achievements in the movement to build a new countryside; achievements in the movement to protect national security; initiatives and inventions in agricultural production.

The title “Outstanding Vietnamese Farmer” is awarded annually on the occasion of the anniversary of the founding of the Vietnam Farmers’ Union (October 14) for examples of typical farmers who are advanced in production and business activities, have innovative inventions applied in production and are active in the movement of building a new countryside, contributing to building a strong association organization.
