Bac Ninh exceeds medal target at 9th National Sports Congress
(BNP) – On December 21, in Quang Ninh, the 9th National Sports Congress officially closed after more than a month of exciting and impressive competition. Bac Ninh Sports Delegation surpassed the target with 57 medals (15 golds, 16 silvers, 26 bronze medals), ranked 16th out of 65 participating provinces, cities and industries.

At 9th National Sports Congress, Bac Ninh Sports Delegation sent nearly 180 coaches and athletes to compete in 15 out of 43 subjects (an increase of 5 subjects compared to the previous period), including: Wrestling, Karate, Boxing, Kickboxing, Fencing, Wushu, Judo, Kurash, Badminton, Weightlifting, Athletics, Pencak Silat, Tennis, Stick Push, Women's Volleyball. In which, the key sports and strengths of the province brought home gold medals for Bac Ninh sports.
The opening was the gold medal in Karate of athlete Nguyen Van Nhat, in the men's Kumite event, under 71kg (28-11), and then consecutive gold medals in the subjects: Wrestling (2 gold), Pencak Silat (1 gold), Kickboxing (1 gold), Judo (1 gold), Stick Push (1 gold), Fencing (1 gold), Kurash (1 gold), Wushu (1 gold), Weightlifting (2 gold), Boxing (3 gold). This is the highest result that Bac Ninh sport has achieved in the time of participating in the Congress. Compared to the 8th National Sports Congress, Bac Ninh Sports Delegation increased 27 medals (10 golds, 5 silvers, 12 bronze medals), up 13 places in the ranking of the whole team.
Along with that, Bac Ninh also contributed to the successful, safe and thoughtful organization of 3 sports: Boxing, Tennis and Indoor Handball of the Congress, leaving bold and unforgettable impressions with sports delegations attending and competing.
