Contribute to enhance the status of Bac Ninh sports on the domestic and international arena

(BNP) – The year of 2017 is the time that Bac Ninh sports reaped many breakthrough achievements with the medals at the national and international tournaments after 20 years of Bac Ninh province’s re-establishment. Those results are thanks to the very great dedication of the Provincial Center for Sports Training and Coaching (under Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism), which has contributed to improving Bac Ninh's sports status and rank in the domestic and international arena.

One training lesson of athletes of Karate

Nowadays, the Provincial Center for Sports Training and Coaching is training 235 high-achievement athletes, including 53 provincial athletes, 61 young athletes and 121 skilled athletes in 10 subjects, namely weightlifting, fencing, chess, karate, boxing, wushu, judo, badminton, and tennis. These sports are not only the strength of the province but also the focus of the Olympics, ASIAD, the National Sports Festival. In 2017, the Center dispatched athletes competing in 27 national and international tournaments and successfully achieved 180 medals of all kinds (increasing 17 medals compared to 2016), of which regarding the international prize, the Center crowned 23 gold medals, 7 silver medals, and 15 bronze medals (increasing 12 gold medals compared to 2016).

In particular, Athlete Tran Dang Minh Quang won the silver medal at the Asian Youth Chess Championship; Athlete Do Tu Tung ranked 5th at World Youth Weightlifting Championship and won the ticket to join the Olympic Youth Prize in 2018; Athlete Nguyen Van Nhat gained one gold medal and one bronze medal at SeaGames 29; Athlete Nguyen Thi Quyen got 1 gold medal at Fencing at SeaGames 29,...

These achievements, apart from the effort, tireless practicing of the coaches, athletes of the Center, are thanks to many incentive investment policies launched by provincial leaders to attract talented coaches, athletes participating in high-achievement sports for recent years. Furthermore, the Center also provided specific nutrition for coaches and athletes, formed immediate and regular reward funds for athletes; renovated the training ground, dormitory... Therefore, it made motivation for them to actively practice, compete and devote more medals at the national and international tournaments to the province, contributing to improving the position of provincial sport on the domestic and international arena.
