Delegation of Nanning city (China) visits and works in Bac Ninh

(BNP) - On April 17, a delegation of Nanning city, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, China led by Mr. Nong Shengwen, Standing Member of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Regional Committee and Secretary of the Nanning Municipal Committee visited and worked in Bac Ninh province.

Receiving and working with the delegation were Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies; Mr. Ta Dang Doan, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Secretary of the Bac Ninh City Party Committee; Mr. Ngo Tan Phuong, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, and leaders of departments, branches, sectors and Bac Ninh city.

Secretary Nguyen Anh Tuan briefed on the Bac Ninh province’s potential, strengths and the recent outstanding achievements in socio-economic development. The province now has more than 600 Chinese FDI projects with a total investment capital of nearly USD 1.2 billion, mainly in the fields of electronic component manufacturing, precision mechanics, service and civil industries. He also noted that Chinese enterprises have created jobs for a large number of laborers, making positive contributions to the province’s overall development.

Emphasizing the long-standing friendship and important trade partnership between Vietnam and China, Tuan hoped that Bac Ninh province and Nanning city would further strongly boost promotion activities, investment attraction, people-to-people exchanges and diplomacy, thereby, creating a foundation for the long-term cooperative relationships between the two localities. He also wished that Mr. Nong Shengwen would pay attention, support, connect, and introduce Nanning’s enterprises to survey and research the investment environment in Bac Ninh.

Bac Ninh province’s authority is committed to creating the most favorable conditions for the investment activities of Nanning’s enterprises and it will always accompany and promptly remove all difficulties and obstacles for them during their operations in the province, Tuan added.

For his part, Mr. Nong Shengwen expressed his impression of the Bac Ninh’s potential and strengths as well as its rapid and outstanding development to become an industrial production center of the country. He also said that Nanning is the capital of Guangxi province and the city with the highest economic growth rate in China. This is also the place where the annual China-ASEAN Expo is held and is an important connection point between China and ASEAN countries, he highlighted.

In the coming time, Mr. Nong Shengwen hoped that Nanning city and Bac Ninh province would build bilateral cooperative relationships in the fields of: Industry, transportation, logistics; exchange and cooperation in education, science and technology, health, culture, tourism, etc. At the same time, he respectfully extended an invitation to the Bac Ninh province’s leaders to attend the China-ASEAN Expo and the Exchange Conference between provinces and cities in the Nanning - Hanoi economic corridor in the upcoming September. Therefore, they can increase understanding, enhance cooperation, and contribute to a long-term friendly relationship between two countries in general and two localities in particular.


Overview of the working session.

At the working session, Vice Chairman Ngo Tan Phuong and Deputy Mayor of Nanning City Fan Xiaomin signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on strengthening economic exchanges, trade and connectivity. The MoU’s contents include: the two sides’ local government agencies focus on promoting learning and exchanging experiences in developing industry and industrial parks, bilateral trade, urban services, infrastructure, and clean energy through online meetings and mutual visits; support one side’s enterprises to participate in the other side’s fairs and exhibitions; Nanning city will support and create preferential conditions for Bac Ninh province’s enterprises to participate in activities related to the China-ASEAN Expo.

At the same time, the two sides jointly carry out cooperative research on renovating and upgrading railway lines and cargo wharfs in Bac Ninh province; design and develop high-quality cross-border transport routes between China and Vietnam, making efforts to open the direct route from Nanning to Hanoi (Bac Ninh section), and promote customs clearance at relevant supervision facilities of Bac Ninh customs for cross-border online vehicles and so on.

Previously, the delegation of Nanning city visited Que Vo I industrial park; as well as visited and worked with Chinese electronics businesses at Goertek Vina.
