Historical relic - Tinh Ngo communal house

(BNP) - Tinh Ngo communal house, Binh Dinh commune, Luong Tai district, was built in the reign of Le Trung Hung (18th century). It is a typical cultural and religious structure of local people and a place to worship the village’s tutelary god who helped the people and the country.

Over time, the communal house was damaged, especially during the resistance war against the French, it was completely destroyed, only 3-compartment “hậu cung” (Emperor’s harem) remained. After peace was restored, local people rebuilt the “tiền tế” (Front Ceremonial Hall), connected to the 3-compartment Emperor’s harem. The Emperor’s harem is an architectural work that still retains its architectural integrity from the Le dynasty.

Currently, Tinh Ngo communal house has an architecture of Chinese “Dinh” letter, including 5-compartment Great Communal Hall and 3-compartment Emperor’s harem. The load-bearing frame is made of new materials linked by 4 rows of horizontal columns and 4 rows of vertical columns.

The communal house still preserves many documents and antiques containing historical value such as: ordinations of Le-Nguyen dynasties; stone stele dated in the reign of Thanh Thai, worship items and so on.

Tinh Ngo communal house was ranked as a provincial-level relic in Decision No. 446/QD-UBND dated March 30, 2006.
