National historical and cultural relic - Trang Liet communal house

(BNP) - Located at the heart of the quarter, Trang Liet communal house, Trang Ha ward, Tu Son city was built in the Nguyen dynasty (1813). After many times of restoration and embellishment, until now, the communal house still retains its ancient architectural features and it is a cultural and religious space for local people.

Trang Liet communal house worships the village's Tutelary Gods who are two famous generals of the Tran dynasty: Tran Ba ​​Liet and Tran Quang Khai. The communal house currently has Front Ceremonial Hall, Great Communal Hall, Emperor’s harem, 2 houses of Ta Vu, Huu Vu and auxiliary works.

Front Ceremonial Hall consists of 1 compartment and 2 wings.


The architecture has 2 floors and 8 curved roofs.

In the middle of the Front Ceremonial Hall is the “mỹ tục khả phong” painting (which means the village has good and beautiful customs that should be followed) given by King Tu Duc to the ancient Trang Liet village. It now still retains the original.


The Great Communal Hall has an architecture of Chinese “Dinh” letter including 5 compartments, 2 wings and 4 curved roofs.

The Great Communal Hall is decorated with rich patterns, having the theme of four sacred animals and four precious things. This is an architecture built in 1815.


The Emperor’s harem has 2 wings.

On both sides of the Great Communal Hall are the houses of Ta Vu and Huu Vu, consisting of 5 compartments, where villagers and tourists prepare for ceremonies before they enter the communal house.


Currently, the communal house still keeps many precious artifacts: altar, incense burner, horizontal lacquered board, couplets, etc.

Stele "Trang Liệt đồng chung" was erected in the reign of Tu Duc 2 (1849).


To the left of the communal house is Trang Liet temple - a National Monument.

The communal house’s festival is also the temple’s festival and Trang Liet quarter’s festival which is held on the 8th day of the third lunar month every year. Trang Liet communal house is ranked as a national historical and cultural relic according to Decision No. 28-VH/QD dated January 18, 1988.
