As a free trade agreement between Vietnam and 27 European Member States (EU), the EVFTA officially took effect from August 1, 2020, will help to promote exports, diversify markets and export products, thereby opening up great opportunities for comprehensive partnership and cooperation between Vietnam - EU.

To implement the trade deal, the Government has issued a plan which focuses on five major working groups including propaganda and disinformation on the agreement and markets of EU countries; legislative and institutional work; measures to improve competitiveness and develop human resources; guidelines and policies for trade unions and workers' organizations at the enterprises; and social security policies, environmental protection and sustainable development.

Pointing out obstacles, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc asked ministries, branches and localities to actively make specific plan and program; promote information and propaganda to raise awareness on EVFTA's challenges and opportunities; continue to reform institutions for the sustainable development of the country as well as the relationship between Vietnam - EU.

On the other hand, it is necessary to train human resources in international integration at State agencies. Enterprises, associations push cooperation exchange, share experiences, and links chain to effectively make use of opportunities brought by EVFTA, said by PM Phuc.
