(BNP) - Within the framework of the working program in Korea, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee (PPC) and Head of the Provincial Delegation of National Assembly Deputies on November 10, visited and worked with Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH).

At the meeting, Secretary Nguyen Anh Tuan said that, Bac Ninh province is now regarded as a bright spot in the country foreign investment attraction, receiving the attention of investors from the countries. Until now, the province has issued certificates of investment registration to more than 2,000 valid FDI projects totaling more than USD 25.6 billion (ranked sixth in the country in terms of accumulated realised capital) from 39 countries and territories, mainly in the field of manufacturing and processing.

Among them, Korea is the leading country with 966 valid projects with a total registered investment capital of USD 14.5 billion, accounting for nearly 60% of total foreign investment capital in the province. Korean investors have made positive contributions to the province’s socio-economic development. However, there are still no Korean investors investing in urban areas in Bac Ninh.
Tuan further said that Bac Ninh province is focusing on implementation of solutions to meet the criteria for urban areas of grade I as a foundation for making the province into a centrally run city. As a result, the province needs huge human resources to complete infrastructure, focusing on investment attraction in the fields with a lot of land.

On the other hand, Bac Ninh province and LH signed a Memorandum of Understanding on the Vietnam and Korea Urban Growth Partnership Program in June 2023 in developing projects such as smart new urban areas and industrial parks in the province on the G2G cooperation platform. Based on the signed Memorandum of Understanding, Tuan hoped that the two sides would continue to work closely together to carry out the contents of the Memorandum of Understanding so that the LH can soon deploy the project in Bac Ninh.

For his part, Mr. Lee Han Jun said that with its history of over 60 years of establishment and development, the LH specializes in investing in the fields of development of industrial park economic zones, urban areas and the supply of housing. Currently, the LH has gradually formed many projects in the provinces and cities in Vietnam such as Hanoi, Da Nang, Thua Thien Hue, Hung Yen, etc.
In the coming time, Lee Han Jun affirmed that he would promote exchange as well as closely work with Bac Ninh province to soon deploy the project in the province under the cooperation content of the Memorandum of Understanding.

PPC’s Secretary Tuan expressed his heartfelt gratitude for the respectful welcome's Amkor Group. At the same time, he stressed the good relationship between Bac Ninh province and Amkor Group, noting that the factory for manufacturing, assembling and testing semiconductor materials of Amkor Technology Vietnam Co., Ltd. has just been inaugurated and put into operation in Bac Ninh province with a total registered investment capital of about USD 530 million in the first phase. This is an important step for Bac Ninh province to officially appear on the world map of semiconductor component production as well as a new driving force in the province's high-tech industry development, thereby creating favorable conditions for the province to develop its high-tech industry and attract more major investors around the world.
Tuan hoped that Amkor Group would continue investing in the next phase to ensure compliance with agreement commitments; introduce member companies, suppliers, and production chains to invest in Bac Ninh in the next coming time. The province intended to create a semiconductor ecosystem in Bac Ninh, of which Amkor is the center. Bac Ninh province committed to fully performing the committed contents and creating the most favorable conditions for the Group to implement the project in the province.

Chairman Ji-Jong-Rip said established in 1968, Amkor is a global leader in technology and engineering and is a member company of the American Semiconductor Industry Association. Currently, the Group operates in 12 countries around the world. Among them, the high-tech semiconductor factory in Yen Phong II-C Industrial Park, Bac Ninh province, is Amkor's largest factory globally.
In the coming time, Mr. Ji-Jong-Rip hoped that Bac Ninh province would continue to focus on investing and supporting the work of fire fighting and prevention, especially in industrial parks.
