Workshop "Role and factors affecting improvement of total factor productivity based on science, technology and innovation" held
(BNP) - On the morning of August 28, the Institute of Sociology (Ho Chi Minh National Academy of Politics) and Nguyen Van Cu Political School jointly organized the workshop "The role and factors affecting improvement of total factor productivity based on science, technology and innovation".
Overview of the workshop
The workshop was chaired by Dr. Bui Phuong Dinh, Director of the Institute of Sociology; Mr. Tran Van Vung, Principal of Nguyen Van Cu School of Politics.
According to the report presented at the workshop, the total factor productivity is one of the most accurate and general indicators reflecting the efficiency of capital and labor use, which is an important basis for analyzing the quality of economic growth, evaluating scientific and technological progress of each sector, each locality or a country. Increasing the contribution of science, technology and innovation in improving total factors is necessary to ensure the promotion of rapid and long-term growth.
Bac Ninh is a locality with great attraction for domestic and foreign branded investors and is oriented to develop industrial parks. However, the province’s development of science, technology and innovation is still limited, and local industrial parks still mainly come from FDI. Bac Ninh needs to promote the development of science, technology and innovation in digital transformation; strengthen the application of high technology in production to improve labor productivity.
The research to find solutions to improve the productivity of total factors on the basis of science, technology and innovation has important practical significance, in line with the orientation of "green growth" of Bac Ninh province in the context that the province is focusing on building a modern and smart industry, promoting economic growth associated with environmental protection.
The presentations of the delegates at the Workshop focused on discussing issues related to: The role and impact of total factor productivity on Vietnam's economic growth in general and Bac Ninh province in particular; the research of methods to improve total factor productivity in enterprises in the current period; factors affecting economic growth in Bac Ninh; the role of the private economy on economic growth in Bac Ninh province...
The workshop is an opportunity for officials, scientists, businesses in the province and officials and lecturers of Nguyen Van Cu School of Politics to exchange and share information, experiences, trends, important strategies and solutions to improve the value of total factor productivity in the province, contributing to the implementation of the goals in the strategic orientation and development planning of the province for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050.
