The selected members are the best candidates among nearly 50 students currently preparing for the second round of the selection process for the Vietnamese team to participate in the 2026 International Mathematical Olympiad.

This year, the Asia-Pacific Mathematical Olympiad, hosted by Vietnam, is scheduled to take place on March 10th at the headquarters of the Institute for Advanced Studies in Mathematics (Hanoi).

The competition, first held in 1989, is for high school students in the Asia-Pacific region to discover and nurture young mathematical talents, while also promoting international cooperation among countries in the region. Each year, approximately 30 countries and territories participate in the competition with over 300 contestants. Vietnam participated in the competition from 1996 to 2002, but due to unforeseen circumstances, participation was temporarily suspended.
