(BNP) - Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Mai Son has recently signed Plan No. 144/KH-UBND to organize the Bac Ninh Provincial Start-up and Innovation Festival 2026 (Techfest Bac Ninh 2026).

The festival is organized with the theme "Universal Innovation - Driving Force for a Sustainable Start-up Ecosystem," expected to take place from April to December 2026 across the province.
Techfest Bac Ninh 2026 aims to raise community awareness about the role of innovation in the province's socio-economic development; promoting the transformation of start-up support methods towards being more practical and effective. At the same time, it promotes the province's potential and advantages in high-tech fields such as the semiconductor industry, green technology, and smart manufacturing. The event also contributes to inspiring the start-up spirit among all classes of people, especially the younger generation, pupils, and students, contributing to the formation of innovative human resources for the province in the coming period.
Within the framework of the Festival, a series of diverse activities will take place, such as communication before, during, and after the event; organizing surveys on the start-up needs of high school students; the opening of Techfest in conjunction with Vietnam Science, Technology and Innovation Day (May 18); organization of the Bac Ninh Provincial Start-up and Innovation Contest 2026; scientific seminars on solutions to promote innovation; and thematic talks on human resource development and sustainable development. In addition, an exhibition of start-up and innovation products will be organized with various thematic display areas such as semiconductor technology, logistics, green technology, start-ups, and investment matching.
This is an opportunity for businesses and startups to introduce products, connect with investors, and expand their markets. The highlight of the event is the Bac Ninh Provincial Start-up and Innovation Contest 2026, taking place from May to December 2026, with the participation of businesses, individuals, and start-up groups with ideas or projects implemented in the province. In particular, ideas and projects in the province's key areas are encouraged, such as: semiconductor technology, automation, smart agriculture, digital tourism; and ideas or projects in the list of priority sectors, investment incentive areas, and related high-tech fields.
Authors of winning projects and ideas in the Contest will be awarded certificates from the organizing committee along with prize money. The prize structure is as follows: For projects with existing products: 01 First Prize, 01 Second Prize, 02 Third Prizes, 02 Consolation Prizes; for ideas: 01 First Prize, 01 Second Prize, 01 Third Prize, 01 Consolation Prize. Winning projects and potential projects will be prioritized for participation in the province's start-up incubation and acceleration programs; connection with investment funds and large enterprises; and support in legal consulting, intellectual property, product refinement, and market expansion.
Through Techfest Bac Ninh 2026, the province expects to create a favorable environment for innovative start-ups, promoting connections between subjects in the ecosystem, thereby creating a foundation for sustainable economic development in the coming period./.
