In recent years, the science and technology business community has proactively and effectively utilized the province's policies and guidelines, promoting innovation, applying high technology, developing e-commerce and multi-channel business. As a result, they have gradually expanded their markets, enhanced their competitiveness, and accessed new technological trends.
However, the activities of science and technology businesses in the province still face some limitations due to the low investment rate in research and development; a shortage of high-quality human resources; difficulties in accessing preferential policies, especially for small and medium-sized enterprises. In addition, information on technology and equipment is lacking; the technology exchange platform is not yet operating effectively; and the connection, transfer, and commercialization of research results between businesses and research institutes and universities are not yet clearly defined.
To promote the sustainable development of science and technology enterprises, the Department of Science and Technology has issued the Science and Technology Enterprise Development Plan for 2026. The plan focuses on reviewing and building a database of enterprises based on their readiness level, prioritizing enterprises with completed science and technology projects funded by the state budget, those possessing patents or utility models, or those that have won National Quality Awards, aiming for completion before April 20, 2026.
In addition, the Department will strengthen its outreach and provide in-depth consultation through training conferences, while also directly approaching potential enterprises to provide timely support. Regarding administrative procedures, the department commits to publicly disseminating processes and forms on the Public Service Portal, shortening processing times, and creating favorable conditions for businesses.
The Department of Science and Technology is currently submitting applications to the competent authority for consideration of granting Science and Technology Enterprise Certificates to Bac Giang LG Garment Corporation and FUJIKO Vietnam Pharmaceutical Company Limited.
