(BNP) – The Provincial People’s Committee has signed and issued Plan to implement the “One Commune One Product” (OCOP) Program in 2026. The plan aims to further deepen the program, ensure its effective and sustainable development, and make it a key driver for boosting the rural economy.

According to the plan, the province will develop OCOP products based on value chains, leveraging local raw materials, cultural identity, and indigenous knowledge. Priority will be given to specialty products, traditional craft village products, and community-based tourism services. At the same time, support will be strengthened for producers in building brands, ensuring product traceability, and improving quality and competitiveness in the market.

Specifically, in 2026, Bac Ninh aims to have at least 100 OCOP products rated 3 stars or higher. The province will also review and re-evaluate approximately 35%–40% of products whose certification has expired to maintain or upgrade their ratings. In addition, around 40 grassroots-level communication sessions and 3–4 specialized training courses will be organized to enhance the capacity of OCOP stakeholders and management officials.

Based on the number of products proposed for evaluation, seasonal characteristics, and local conditions, the provincial People’s Committee will direct the classification and rating process in two phases: the first before August 10, 2026, and the second before November 30, 2026. The province will also announce recognized OCOP products in conjunction with exhibitions, promotional activities, and trade connection events to help producers introduce and sell their products, meet distributors, and expand markets.

To effectively implement the plan, the provincial People’s Committee requires departments, sectors, units, and localities to continue promoting communication and human resource training; develop, upgrade, and standardize products in accordance with OCOP criteria. Product evaluation and classification will be carried out in line with regulations, while trade promotion and market connectivity both domestically and internationally will be strengthened.

Emphasis will be placed on applying information technology and digital transformation in product management, promotion, and traceability. At the same time, inspection and supervision of product quality after certification will be enhanced to ensure compliance with regulations on food safety, intellectual property, and environmental protection.

The Department of Agriculture and Environment is assigned to take the lead, in coordination with relevant departments, sectors, and localities, to implement the tasks in a synchronized manner, ensuring the achievement of the set goals, contributing to increasing people’s income and promoting new rural development in the province.
