(BNP) - On the evening of October 22, at the Luong Tai Communal People's Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan met, encouraged, and presented gifts to a number of households in the commune whose land was recovered to serve the Gia Binh International Airport project.

Speaking at the meeting, Chairman Vuong Quoc Tuan stated that the project, which spans about 2,000 hectares, is a significant national undertaking and serves as both a major transit airport in the area and an aviation gateway to the North and the capital, Hanoi.
The airport will be built in accordance with 4F airport standards between 2021 and 2030, with a capacity of roughly 30 million passengers annually and 1.6 million tons of cargo annually. The airport is expected to handle roughly 50 million passengers and 2.5 million tons of cargo annually by 2050.

Gia Binh International Airport is developed into a transit center for passengers and goods in the Northern region. The airport area has a duty-free free trade zone, with conditions for developing trade and services. In addition, the general technical infrastructure system planning is oriented to connect the airport with the expressway from Hanoi Capital to the Port and Hai Phong City; arrange an urban railway station at the passenger terminal area of the Port to serve the connection with the national railway system, the urban railway line connecting to Hanoi Capital...

The Chairman hoped that people with land related to the project would continue to support, unite, and join hands with the province to speed up the progress and soon complete the project.
