Vice Chairman Ngo Tan Phuong receives Counselor of Chinese Embassy in Vietnam

(BNP) - On the morning of December 12th, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Ngo Tan Phuong received a delegation from the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam led by Mr. Wu Guoquan, Counselor of the Embassy.

Speaking at the reception, Vice Chairman Ngo Tan Phuong expressed his pleasure in welcoming Mr. Wu Guoquan, Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam and the delegation. He also provided the delegation with an overview of the province’s natural conditions and socio-economic development after the merger, noting that the province's economic growth rate in 2025 is projected at 10.27%, ranking 5th nationwide and 4th in the Red River Delta region. The province has attracted approximately 1,450 projects from Chinese partners with a total registered investment capital of over USD11.3 billion, ranking 1st in the number of projects and 3rd in total investment capital in Bac Ninh.

In particular, the province is investing in the construction of Gia Binh International Airport, a 4F-class airport meeting international standards, capable of accommodating the most modern aircraft.

Bac Ninh continues to affirm its position as the industrial hub of Northern Vietnam. To date, the province has 3,386 active FDI projects with a total registered capital of over US$46.65 billion, Phuong added.

At the local level, Bac Ninh has signed numerous cooperation agreements with Chinese localities such as Nanning, Laibin, Weifang, Zhenjiang, and Hekou, expanding cooperation in the fields of economics, trade, investment, education, culture, and tourism.

Vice Chairman Ngo Tan Phuong presents and introduces the Dong Ho folk paintings to Mr. Wu Guoquan, which have just been inscribed by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage.

Speaking at the meeting, Mr. Wu Guoquan congratulated Bac Ninh on its outstanding achievements in recent years, affirming that Bac Ninh is a dynamically developing locality, ranking among the leading provinces nationwide.

He assessed that the merger and establishment of the new Bac Ninh province not only expands development space but also has strategic significance, making an important contribution to the overall development of the country. The Chinese Embassy is ready to act as a bridge, introducing Chinese businesses to explore investment opportunities in Bac Ninh, and requested the province to continue paying attention to and supporting Chinese businesses to operate effectively, especially in granting temporary residence permits and driver's licenses, creating conditions for Chinese residents and workers to settle down and work in the locality.

At the reception, both sides also exchanged views and addressed difficulties and obstacles related to Chinese businesses investing and operating in Bac Ninh.

During the meeting, the Vice Chairman requested the Counselor of the Chinese Embassy to introduce Chinese investors and businesses to explore and invest in Bac Ninh in key sectors such as industry, urban development, and services; developing modern, integrated urban and service complexes; building integrated service and logistics zones; semiconductor industry, artificial intelligence; high-quality sports, cultural, medical, healthcare, education and vocational training projects; as well as projects in environment, renewable energy, electronics manufacturing, high-tech industries, automobile manufacturing and assembly, and investment in the construction of high-end restaurants, hotels, and resorts.

During the reception, Vice Chairman Ngo Tan Phuong and Mr. Wu Guoquan, Counselor of the Chinese Embassy in Vietnam, presented commemorative gifts and local specialties.
